i have a 05 thunder road 4 door 5.7L. i was wondering if anyone knows the stock 0-60 time, and what basic mods i can do to improve it...

idk it but maybe around 12
air intake, exhaust, chip/tuner, headers, cam, nos, gear ratio.
air intake = 100-350
exhaust = 100-400
chip = 200(used) - 800 I bought my SC for 210$
headers = 250-450
cam = 400 - +++
Nos = ?
Gears = ~1000+

Stock 0-60 is about in the 7's I believe. There are tons of mods you can do. The basic three are intake, programmer and exhaust.

ok so 7s sounds like a good number, and (BadHazar)- i have 392 gears exaust, and as u have been verry helpfull and have been following my search for a CAI, that will be coming soon...Now as fare as chips go, is there anything that i should be causious with, like am i going to break anything if i ride it hard every once in a while?

Nothing to worry about by going with a tuner, you won't break anything with a canned tune.

Idk about 7's, i guess 12s is high but I dont think 7s....
No problem man, there are DIYs on how to do the intakes.
The tuners arent anything like on a diesel, if thats what you were worried about. These adjust the timing

7's should be right. My 4.7L with superchips is in the 7's 0-60. Can't remember exactly but wanna say like 7.4 sec? My friend had an 05 hemi quad cab and when I told him my 0-60 he said it was faster than his stock 0-60.

I know when my 04 5.7 was stock it ran somewhere around 7.

About 7-8 seconds would be right. Even the 06 1500 mega cab 4x4 and the 05 power wagon do it in 9 seconds so not sure where badhazard got 12 seconds

My 2006 1500 laramie( which is 4 door and 4wd) with the 5.7 with only exhaust and diablo trinity on 93 does 0-60 in 7.13...tested it today :smileup:
